Virtual Holiday Ideas

We have made it through spooky season and are finally approaching the holidays! Like everything else this year (and last!), the holiday season might still look a bit different for many of us but we can still make the most of it. Whether this means adjusting old traditions or coming up with new ones, there are plenty of ways to keep the holiday cheer alive. Check out some ideas below:

  • Recipe Book – Whether with a group of friends or family, this is a great way to feel connect to those you may not be able to see for the holidays. Ask everyone to send their favorite recipe, a photo of the completed dish and a short description of where the recipe came from or why it’s their favorite. Once you have gathered all of the recipes you can either put together a digital document and send to everyone virtually, create a physical book via a platform like Shutterfly or if you’re feeling crafty you can put together a handmade, bound book!

  • Virtual Secret Santa – I don’t know about you but I have always loved participating in Secret Santa’s! You can use an online gift exchange generator, set a buying price limit and then mail (or hand deliver) your gift to your person. Use Zoom to set up a gift opening party and everyone can reveal what they got!

  • Virtual Gingerbread Competition - Enjoy a little friendly competition? Set up a date and time for a Zoom call and prepare for a great time! Have everyone purchase a gingerbread kit and see who can come up with the best creation. You can make different awards like Most Creative, Funniest, Most Complex, etc.

  • Holiday Gift Packages – This is a great way to show someone you are thinking of them during this holiday season! You can put together a box of awesome holiday goodies like hot cocoa, a cute mug and fuzzy socks. If you have little ones, they can make cards or a small craft to include as well!

I hope you all are able to stay connected with your loved ones and enjoy this special time of year!
